
Do road infrastructure and natural resources affect poverty reduction in North Sumatra, Indonesia?

Abstract
Poverty is a significant issue faced by nearly all countries worldwide. Generally, poverty is defined as the inability of an individual to meet basic needs in various aspects of life. This study aims to examine the impact of road infrastructure and natural resources on poverty in North Sumatra Province. The research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data obtained from publications by the Central Bureau of Statistics for the period 2010 to 2021. The analytical method employed is multiple linear regression, conducted using Eviews 10 software. The findings indicate that road infrastructure has a positive and significant effect on poverty in North Sumatra Province. Similarly, natural resources also exhibit a positive and significant impact on poverty in the region.
